5 steps to conduct a successful workshop

Henry Brooke Adams said: "A teacher affects eternity – that you can never tell where his influence stops."

A seminar is an event of transformation for all. Some participants can learn, but someone who is important for their future needs. Some participants may feel they have learned something, but years later, that information will increase their workshop. Whatever we do to help you learn, it is for the participants if they seize the opportunity or not.

Yes, we do a fantasticpossible, but not too bad if some participants see the value not think anyone else has done – a bit 'too gentle with yourself. Let's see what we can do to make this event a fantastic, though!

1. Preparation

There are first together, make more than necessary for the participants (paper, pens, pencils, chairs, tables, food and drinks) and make sure that all necessary equipment for the job – an overhead projector, data presentation, whiteboard pens and dust cloth (glue)microphone, music, murals, advertisements for your next seminar, your business cards, forms of assessment.

2. Welcome

Introduce yourself to each participant in (or someone in your team to do so), so as to come into your space, your "home". As a guest, are insecure, even afraid. Relax before you start the seminar begins, and will participate soon. This makes it easier for you … and!

Begin with aswitch (see my article entitled "Running Workshop – Great ice breaker), so that they can feel more at ease with you, other participants and venue.

3. Learning styles

They say that we all learn from one of seven ways. This will open a form of learning, and if, for example, to talk, you should prefer to walk and talk. Those who do not know what the best way (six-sevenths of your group) will be difficult to stay focused, as is everything you do. Search indifferent styles, surrounded by a light:

Auditory – facilitator of the talks.
Visual – whiteboard, PowerPoint or visual presentation.
Music – soft background music playing at the beginning and during breaks.
Kinesthetic – activities.
Group – discussions in small groups.
Meditation – time for a quiet, only a reflection.
Minutes – the possibility for their group.

It can be difficult to incorporate all these styles, but most were turned off for all,The more out of your presentation.

4. End

It is a way for people to recognize the other – perhaps they have their name on a piece of paper and write to be sent to all to write a positive comment (anonymously or otherwise).
